Biothaumaturgy is not a science here in the Lands of Lok'Groton. Here that "science" is called Healing. Back in Hyrios on the mainland we called it biothaumaturgy. The result is the same, though: people get healed! That is really the important thing. The means to fullfill it and tools to perform it are not the same. The word Biothaumaturgy is derived from its two stem words:
- Biology
- The science of life; that branch of knowledge which treats of living matter as distinct from matter which is not living; the study of living tissue. It has to do with the origin, structure, development, function, and distribution of people, animals and plants.
- Thaumaturgy
- The working of miracles or magic feats.
